“I’m sorry,” may pinalidad na tugon ni Ryanne. Alam niyang ‘Let me have you in my bed’ ang ibig nitong sabihin. Wala sa bokabularyo niya ang casual sex, kahit ito pa ang lalaking minahal niya nang halos buong buhay niya.

“I don’t believe this.” Napailing ito. “Why, Rye? Why can’t you give us a chance? You’re not being fair to both of us!”

Pinigil niya ang luhang namumuo sa mga mata. Siya ba ang unfair? “G-ganoon talaga, Cole. There are just some things that you can’t have…kahit ano pa’ng gawin mo.”

Ryanne was telling herself that same line. She could not have Cole’s love. Hula niya, it was not meant for her.
